Our Story

Heather & Driftwood is a curated lifestyle brand founded by Sarah Deacon. The brand bridges the gap between natural beauty and conscious interior styling by offering unique clothing, art, prints, homewares, vintage and upcycled items.

The Inspiration

In 2017 the founder Dr Sarah Deacon started her first brand Bush Medicine after her experience travelling through the Australian outback from Adelaide to Darwin and then on to Bali. As a photographer she found the scenery breath-taking and the history and culture of the indigenous people there truly inspiring. This inspired her first clothing collection taking inspiration from the Aboriginal Art collected during her travels in Australia. Using her own colour palette to create prints to reflect nature, family, wellness and healing. After leaving this behind for a while,  working as a graphic designer, she enhanced her print design skills and spent her spare time researching, collecting and selling vintage and pre-loved items.  This leads to the present wanting to find a home for her own designs, alongside her love of vintage under the umbrella of Heather & Driftwood. The brand name captures the beauty of her home North Yorkshire and it's rugged landscape. It reflects the dramatic transition of the sweeping, purple heather moorlands, down to weathered driftwood scattered along the coastline. This intersection of earth and sea inspires every color palette, texture, and raw material chosen for the collection.

Upcycled Furniture: One-off salvaged pieces restored and reimagined with an artist's eye.

There are other products in the pipeline such as home fragrances, books, fine teas, skin care products based on natural ingredients and stationary for people with dyslexia.

The Philosophy

Every item tells a story of preservation and artistic reinvention. Sarah uses her curatorial background to select products that honor heritage, craftsmanship while reducing environmental waste through thoughtful upcycling.
